the first thing i wrote to you is that i wish i could lie to you.

i guess i could.

and here you are.

in a way manipulated to come and release me.

why you, you might wonder? well, sure, there could have been others. liberate me by force or by bribery. but I wanted someone worthy, someone intelligent, someone like you, to make the final choice. that makes my release noble. that is a sign to me that my cause is just and that I will continue. your choice has enabled me to continue.

i am grateful and I hope you can live with releasing a mad man from incarceration.

grateful as i am, this is not a fairy-tale, so i will not become you humble servant after you have nobly saved me, nor do i have any debt to repay you.

i do not owe you anything. and if you want to be rewarded for letting me out, your reward will be the same as every other human being will get.

with me free of my chains and back out in the world, i will be able to continue my work and overthrow the governing forces that lure in the shadows.

and perhaps that is your reward, the satisfaction of knowing you’ve actually helped.
